Thor
Strength through action
Thor is one of the most recognisable Norse gods today — largely thanks to pop culture and Marvel. Unfortunately, he tends to be drawn as something of a simpleton, which does not hold up against the actual mythology.
The Thor personality type lives through direct action in the same way. Vivid impulse, the energy of movement, force. The inner logic is: I am alive when I am acting. Experience matters more than analysis; movement matters more than deliberation. Thor does not look for meaning in advance — he finds it in the doing.
Burnout
Thor's burnout begins when he has been acting for a long time and nothing is changing. Boundaries are not being recognised. Threats are not going away. The tension stretches on without end. Irritation comes first, then aggression — then, after the emotional surge, apathy. At this point any new effort only deepens the sense of futility, because what matters to Thor is not just acting — it is seeing a result.
Recovery
Physical movement and bodily activity can help maintain contact with the body during a crisis, but they do not replace the essential thing: a clear understanding of what — or who — actually needs protecting.
Is this your type?
- Sitting still for long is genuinely difficult for you.
- Long discussions and careful deliberation frustrate you.
- You understand things better in the doing than in the planning.
- Resistance energises you rather than draining you.
- Your body is an important source of information and decisions.
